Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 26, 2026 |
Last Updated: February 26, 2026 |
Jurisdiction: Applicable to users worldwide
TL;DR — Our Core Privacy Promise: NexaPrep Tools is a 100% browser-based platform. Your files,
documents, and data are processed locally on your device using JavaScript. We do not upload, store, sell, or
share any of your files or personal information. Ever.
1. Who We Are
NexaPrep Tools operates the website located at tools.nexaprep.com (the
"Service"). We provide free, browser-based tools including PDF utilities, image converters, calculators, text
tools, and developer utilities.
For any privacy-related inquiries, please contact us at: support@nexaprep.com
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Since our tools operate entirely within your web browser, we do not collect or have access to:
- Files you upload or process using any tool (PDFs, images, documents, etc.)
- Text you enter into tool input fields (JSON, passwords, URLs, etc.)
- Results generated by any tool
- Your passwords, API keys, or any credentials you may paste
- Your financial or health data entered into calculators
3. Information We May Collect Automatically
Like most websites, we may collect limited, non-personal technical information when you visit our site:
- Log data: Your browser type, operating system, pages visited, time of visit, and referring
URL — collected through standard server logs or analytics services.
- IP address: Your approximate geographic location derived from your IP address (country/city
level). This is used for analytics and abuse prevention only.
- Cookies: We use a minimal set of essential cookies (e.g., to remember your light/dark mode
preference). No cross-site tracking cookies are used.
- Local Storage: Your theme preference (light/dark mode) is stored in your browser's
localStorage. This never leaves your device.
4. How We Use Collected Information
Any non-personal technical data we collect is used exclusively to:
- Understand how users interact with our tools to improve them
- Diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
- Prevent abuse, spam, and malicious activity
- Measure overall website traffic and tool popularity
Except for third-party advertising cookies used by Google AdSense (disclosed below), we do not use your data for profiling or third-party marketing purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
Our Service may integrate with the following third-party libraries and services, each with their own privacy
policies:
- Cloudflare CDN — Serves our Font Awesome icons and may log IP addresses per their privacy
policy.
- Google Analytics (if enabled) — Collects anonymous usage statistics. You can opt out using
the Google Analytics Opt-out
Browser Add-on.
- Google AdSense — We use Google AdSense to serve advertising on our platform. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or www.aboutads.info.
- JavaScript CDN Libraries — Some tools load open-source libraries (e.g., pdf-lib.js,
qrcode.js) from public CDNs over HTTPS.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review their
policies.
6. Cookies Policy
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies in the following limited ways:
- Essential cookies: Required for the website to function correctly (e.g., session
identifiers).
- Preference cookies: Store your dark/light mode selection in localStorage.
- Analytics cookies: Anonymized usage tracking (page views, time on page). Strictly no
personal identification.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): Used to serve relevant ads, customize ad displays, and measure ad performance. Third-party vendors, including Google, use these cookies to serve ads based on your visits.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that some features (like dark mode memory) may not
function without cookies/localStorage.
7. Data Retention
As we do not collect or store your files or personal data, there is no user data for us to retain or delete.
Any server-side analytics data (anonymous, aggregated) is retained for up to 26 months before deletion, in line
with standard analytics retention practices.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
NexaPrep Tools is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions under GDPR). We
do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal
information to us, please contact us immediately at support@nexaprep.com and we will promptly delete such information.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- GDPR (EU/EEA users): Right to access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"),
restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object.
- CCPA (California, USA users): Right to know what personal information is collected, sold,
or disclosed; right to opt out of sale; right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
- UK GDPR: Same rights as EU GDPR, applied under UK law post-Brexit.
- PIPEDA (Canada users): Right to access and correct personal information held about you.
- Australia (Privacy Act 1988): Rights to access and correct personal information, and make a
privacy complaint.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@nexaprep.com.
We will respond within 30 days.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights. Other than the use of third-party advertising cookies by Google AdSense (which may qualify as "selling" or "sharing" of data for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law), NexaPrep Tools does not sell or share personal information to third parties. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or configuring a global privacy control browser setting. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
11. International Data Transfers
NexaPrep Tools serves users globally, including in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada,
Australia, and other regions. Because our tools are client-side, your files and data are never transmitted
internationally — they stay on your device. Any minimal analytics data collected may be processed on servers in
the United States. For EU/EEA users, this transfer is governed by appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR
Chapter V.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect our website from unauthorized access,
including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
- No server-side file processing — eliminating the largest category of data breach risk
- Regular security audits of our codebase and third-party dependencies
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of
any data.
13. Links to Third-Party Websites
Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content
of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated"
date at the top of this page. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on
our privacy practices.
Continued use of our Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy
Policy.
